THE WORLD’S most fearsome batsman, Sanath Jayasuriya, bulldozed Chennai Super Kings’ bowlers and scored his unbeaten 114 out of 45 balls against Chennai Super Kings on May 14 (Wednesday) night. It was the second fastest century of Indian Premiere League (IPL) and Jayasuriya’s maiden century in the IPL and fourth in Twenty20.
Jayasuriya hit 11 sixes in the highly exciting batting innings and has been bettered only by Brendon McCullum’s 13 during his unbeaten knock of 158 not out for Kolkata Knight Riders against Bangalore Royal Challenges in Bangalore on April 18. Jayasuriya has become the fifth batsman to post a 100 in the IPL.

MUMBAI: Sachin Tendulkar, who is yet to play his first ball in the Indian Premier League, could feature in the crucial next tie against Chennai, Mumbai Indians coach Lalchand Rajput said on Sunday.
